NEGOTIATE YOUR NARRATIVE
Terms of Use
Last Updated: April 2026
Welcome. By enrolling in or accessing any Negotiate Your Narrative course ("the Program"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not enroll.
1. Who We Are
The Program is provided by the Be the Transformational Change Fund, Inc. ("BTTC"), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in the State of Delaware. Our mission is to create lasting solutions to employment barriers, social injustice, and homelessness for the LGBTQIA+ community.
The Program is hosted on Thinkific, a third-party learning management platform. Your use of Thinkific is also subject to Thinkific's own terms of service and privacy policy.
2. What the Program Is (and Is Not)
The Program provides educational content on career strategy, salary negotiation, workplace navigation, and professional development. It is designed to give you practical tools and frameworks you can apply in your career.
The Program is not legal advice, financial advice, or therapeutic or medical advice. Nothing in the Program creates an attorney-client, financial advisor, or therapist-patient relationship between you and BTTC.
If you are experiencing workplace discrimination, we encourage you to consult a qualified employment attorney in your jurisdiction. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact the Trans Lifeline at 877-565-8860 or the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.
3. Eligibility
The Program is free and open to anyone 18 years of age or older. You do not need to identify as LGBTQIA+ to enroll in Tier 1: Foundation. The Catalyst Track is designed for Trans, nonbinary, genderqueer, genderfluid, Two-Spirit, and gender-expansive professionals, but enrollment is not restricted by identity.
By enrolling, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and that the information you provide during registration is accurate. Both Courses are open to anyone 18 years of age and up.
4. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You may not share your credentials or allow others to access the Program through your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at [email protected].
Account deletion. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will process your request within thirty (30) calendar days. Upon deletion, your course progress, quiz scores, and completion records will be permanently removed.
Suspension or termination by BTTC. BTTC reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms, at our sole discretion.
5. Consent to Terms
You must affirmatively accept these Terms of Use and the BTTC Privacy Policy before enrolling in the Program. Enrollment is conditioned on that acceptance. Continued use of the Program after any update to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
6. Intellectual Property
All Program content, including video lessons, written materials, downloadable PDFs, assessments, exercises, and associated materials, is the intellectual property of the Be the Transformational Change Fund and is protected by U.S. copyright law.

7. Certificates
Completion certificates are awarded upon meeting the passing requirements for each course. Certificates confirm that you completed the educational program. They do not constitute a professional license, credential, or certification, and they do not guarantee any specific career outcome, salary increase, or employment result.
8. Privacy and Data
What we collect. We collect the information you provide during registration (name and email address) and course activity data, including progress through lessons, quiz scores, pass/fail status, and completion records.
How we use it. We use your data to deliver and improve the Program. We also use anonymized, aggregate data, such as overall completion rates and pass rates, for internal reporting, grant applications, program evaluation, and published research. No individual will be identifiable in any aggregate reporting.
What we will never do. We will never sell your personal information. We will never share your identity, enrollment status, or participation in the Catalyst Track with your employer or any third party without your explicit written consent.
Catalyst Track privacy. Your enrollment in the Catalyst Track, which is designed for Trans and gender-expansive professionals, is private. We understand the sensitivity of this information and treat it accordingly.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Program is provided "as is" and "as available." BTTC makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Program's accuracy, completeness, reliability, or suitability for any particular purpose.
The Program provides general educational guidance. It is not tailored to any specific state's employment laws, any specific employer's policies, or any individual's circumstances. Workplace laws, compensation practices, and LGBTQIA+ protections vary significantly by state, municipality, industry, and employer. You are solely responsible for determining whether any strategy discussed in the Program is appropriate for your situation, and we strongly encourage you to consult a qualified employment attorney before taking action on matters involving potential discrimination or legal rights.
BTTC does not guarantee that completing the Program will result in a salary increase, promotion, job offer, or any other specific career outcome. By using the Program, you acknowledge that you are not relying on BTTC, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, or affiliates as legal, financial, or professional advisors, and that any actions you take based on the Program content are taken at your own discretion and risk.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, BTTC, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, contractors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Program, or from any actions you take or decisions you make based on the Program content. This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory under which damages are sought, whether in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise, even if BTTC has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
BTTC's total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising from or related to the Program shall not exceed zero dollars ($0.00), which is the total amount you paid for the Program.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, BTTC's liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BTTC, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the Program, your violation of these Terms, or any actions you take based on the Program content.
12. Changes to the Program and These Terms
BTTC reserves the right to modify, update, or discontinue any part of the Program at any time without notice. We also reserve the right to update these Terms of Use. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the Program after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
